In the film, Bonnie and Clyde, the use of close up shots are shown a lot that let us know how the character feels toward the other. In many scenes, more than one close up is shown that gives each character their own spotlight. This lets us understand the character better because we focus on what they are saying and how they respond to the events that are happening. For instance, Bonnie sits in the car while Clyde tells her that he is not interested in love. A few close up shots zoom in on Bonnie’s face making it clear that she was upset and embarrassed. These close up shots are used throughout the entire film focusing on the main characters. The use of props and decor was also used frequently in this film. These elements showed us what kind of place the characters lived in and the location. The scene where Clyde robs the first store is a good example of this because we can see all of these elements. The costumes that the characters wore showed us what their preferences are and how they go about themselves. Bonnie wore nice clothing even when she robbed stores with Clyde and liked holding a gun which showed us that she enjoyed doing crime with him.
